Chris Pugh (b. 1971) is an editorial photographer and newspaper editor based in Northern California. His work is rooted in observation, focusing on rural architecture, abandoned buildings, and overlooked details of everyday life. Drawing inspiration from photographers like William Eggleston and Stephen Shore, he uses both digital and analog photography to explore themes of Americana, history, and rural life.

In addition to his personal projects, Chris is the Managing Editor of the Fort Bragg Advocate-News and Mendocino Beacon, and Deputy Editor of the Ukiah Daily Journal. In 2016, he earned first place for news photography in the California Newspaper Publishers Association’s Better Newspapers Contest.

Chris is also the co-founder of MEDIUM Art Center and the Ukiah Photography Club, where he works to support artists and build community around creativity.
